NYSCEA is the umbrella organization for all educational professional organizations in New York State.

The New York State Council of Educational Organizations is an association of state-level professional educational organizations that focus on creating the highest quality of eductional  opportunities for the students of New York. The group meets to learn from the NY State Education Department about the latest Department initiatives and issues, as well as to find common ground and formulate collective positions. NYSCEA also seeks to develop unifying activities amongst member organizations that have common interests, functions, and purposes.

Governance

 

NYSCEA is governed through a three part structure:

 

     A DELEGATE ASSEMBLY consisting of two voting representatives from each member group meets three times annually to discuss issues and make decisions which affect education at all levels of state government.

 

    An EXECUTIVE BOARD which includes the President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Past President and Committee Chairpersons meets

regularly to serve in an administrative role to the Delegates and to make recommendations to the Delegates' Assembly.

 

     A STANDING COMMITTEE of the Council is: Nominations. In addition there are two paid support positions: Executive Business Manager, and Webmaster.
